The Royal Oak on Pleckgate Road in Blackburn has gone up for sale for offers over £195k. It has opened and closed a few times in recent years with mixed success and now seems like the Pubco, Star Bars & Pubs we think, has finally decided to call it a day with the pub. This is the last pub still trading on the original Revidge Run apart from the Knowles Arms which is now primarily a restaurant and we suspect it will be quickly converted into a house. (Thanks to Stephen Hughes who runs the Blackburn & Darwen Pubs (Past & Present) Facebook group).

The Railway Hotel in Station Road, Huncoat has been put for sale for £200,000 via agent Whitegates. The detached, stone-built property dates back to 1874, The pub was originally known as the Highbrake Hotel, built for Bentley's Milnshaw Brewery. In 1893, it took the name the Railway Hotel.
We've sadly have had confirmation that Peregrine in Accrington will not be brewing again. This is a shame as after a shaky start back in 2020 with at times “very lively” beers they won the Beer of the Festival at Clitheroe in 2022 for their Brut IPA which was brewed especially for the festival.

Mark Atkins and Kevin Gallacher raised a glass to Blackburn Rovers 1994-95 Premiership success at the launch event for the new Uncle Jack’s Best Bitter. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the historic title triumph, We Are The Rovers have teamed up with Three B's Brewery to produce the tasty tipple, which is named after legendary former Rovers owner Jack Walker. May 2024
It looks like the return of 12 Steps brewery a few months could earlier was a one off appearance as news has reached us that John who has the Bird in th'hand where the brewery is based doesn't currently have plans to brew again.
March 2024
Rossendale brewery based at the Griffin Inn in Haslingden celebrated 30 years of brewing.
Hopstar have closed the brewery site Darwen due the various reasons and reverted back to Barry's garage for now with a very downscaled brewing taking place.
The sale of the Number 39 Hopstar Brewery Tap also in Darwen (which is a separate business from the brewery) should be going through any day now.
Also in Darwen the 12 Stepsbrewery based in the cellar of the Bird in th'hand is brewing again. Well, the guys at Red Rose in Lower Darwen have brewed Step One Pale Ale for them. Hopefully the mothballed brewery kit in the pub will be used again going forward.
Peregrine based in Accrington are not currently brewing due to personal circumstances but hoping to come back soon. Head brewer Anthony, who was just brewing at the weekends, has recently moved house and needs time getting that sorted and wants to spend more time with the family.
January 2024
The KSC 110 Club in Burnley has closed after the venue had suffered a loss of ‘traditional clientele’ and it had been impossible in current trading conditions for the club to take enough money over the bar to pay all the bills. He also said the months of construction work on the Town2Turf scheme had not helped the situation.
It had been based in Yorkshire Street ever since it moved from a small property on back Manchester Road in May, 1962. Grand Knight Tony Young described the shock announcement as a ‘very sad day.’
