The next informal Wednesday outing will be on 5th August to Todmorden

The train times are: Blackburn 12-20, Accrington 12-28, Rose Grove 12-35, Burnley Manchester Road 12-38, arriving Todmorden 12-55.

We'll meet in the United Services Club at 1pm for an excellent pint of Tetley Bitter.

On Saturday 1st August the SPBW Greater Manchester branch are having a social trip to the Black Bull in Blackburn where there will be 2 beers in wooden casks on the bar and have invited our branch members to join them.

The Society for the Preservation of Beers from the Wood , founded in 1963, is the oldest consumer-based group interested in stimulating the brewing of, increasing the awareness of, and encouraging the drinking of cask conditioned real ale.

Plans are to get to the pub after it opens at 2pm.

How to get there:

A taxi is the best option to get there, nearest train stations are Cherry Tree and Mill Hill. Alternatively there is the Number 4 Blackburn to Leyburn Road bus, get off at Otterburn Road, then it's a half a mile uphill walk to the pub. That will certainly build up a thirst!
