- Mild Month - May 2026
Friday 1 – Sunday 31 May 2026
[National CAMRA event]
Thursday 1 – Saturday 31 May 2025 Every May CAMRA branches across the country celebrate ‘Mild May’, an initiative to celebrate and highlight the beer style Mild, which was recently under threat of extinction due to a drop in popularity.
To help revive the Mild beer style, CAMRA branches encourage local pubs to have at least one Mild on the handpumps during the month of May, and some organise trips to pubs and breweries that embrace and support the beer style.
Mild is a beer style which developed in the late 18th and 19th centuries as drinkers started to demand a slightly sweeter and less aggressively hopped beer than Porter. Early milds were much stronger than modern versions, which tend to fall into the 3% to 3.5% category, though a number of brewers are bringing strength back into style.
Mild is usually dark brown in colour, due to the use of well-roasted malts or roasted barley. Look for a rich malty aroma and flavour, with hints of dark fruit, chocolate, coffee and caramel, with a gentle underpinning of hop bitterness.

- Beer Day Britain 2026
Monday 15 June 2026 19:00
Beer Day Britain is the UK’s annual national beer day on June 15th when people celebrate the national drink. The focus of Beer Day Britain June 15th is the National Cheers to Beer at 7pm.
What is the purpose of Beer Day Britain? To encourage people to drink beer and join the national party. To raise the profile of beer as Britain's national drink and increase beer sales. To celebrate Britain's amazing brewing scene and heritage in spreading the love and knowledge of beer around the world.
Why June 15th? This date is significant because it is also the date that Magna Carta was sealed in 1215. Ale is mentioned in Magna Carta. Clause 35 of the great charter stated: 'Let there be throughout our kingdom a single measure for wine and a single measure for ale and a single measure for corn, namely the London quarter’. Having the Magna Carta connection with Beer Day Britain makes people appreciate that for centuries ale has played a central role in this country.
People are asked to raise a glass and say ‘Cheers to Beer’ and if they use social media post a message or photo using the hashtag #CheersToBeer. People can do the cheers at whatever time suits them, but the main time is 7pm

- Cider & Perry Month - July 2026
Wednesday 1 – Friday 31 July 2026
[National CAMRA event]
CAMRA supports and campaigns for cider and perry throughout the year, and we spotlight it with celebrations in July, during which time our local branches organise cider and perry events across the country (This previously was held In May and October but moved to July in 2025).
Unlike real ale production, which can happen at any time of the year, real cider and perry is generally a seasonal product and can only be made when the fruit is ripe. Production is tied to a natural cycle of the apple and perry pear trees found in orchards around the country.
