*Updated* Social: Hopstar Brewery Tour and Darwen walkaround after

Saturday 16 February 2019 13:00

We've been advised it can get a bit cold at the brewery so better to wrap up warm. There's still time to let Pete know you're coming if you haven't done so already.

We'll be meeting from 12pm at the Number 39 Hopstar Brewery Tap in Bridge Street, for a pre brewery beer (or two), then making our way up to the brewery itself for around 12:45/1pm.

We believe the trains are running again (yeah!) and Darwen train station is just a few minutes walk into town, but if you're coming by bus get the Number 1 from Blackburn bus station, which are every 7/8 minutes, to Darwen bus station then meet us just around the corner at the Number 39. If you're going straight to the brewery then make sure it is the Number 1 for Bolton which leaves every 15 minutes or so, and alight at Mayfield Flats, then turn down in to Grimshaw Street and the brewery is a the bottom of the hill just a few minutes walk away.

The tour costs £10 pp and includes up to 3 pints. Guests very welcome, but please let Peter Clegg know if you are coming so that he can let the brewery know how many to expect. tel 07964-258360 or email ku.gro.armac.scnaltsae@laicos [NB, there will not be any transport laid on for this trip, which is a change from when it was first advertised]

After the brewery visit will be an informal walk to take in some of Darwen's long established pubs you may well know, and several new venues which have sprung up over the last few years, which are drawing people in from across the north west region.
